Danforth BIA Partners with Open Streets TO Sept. 18 - Time to get Ready!

As you will recall we held a vote asking each of you to let us know if you'd be interested in having our Danforth BIA participate in Open Streets TO and the majority of you said yes! So we are now officially part of Open Streets TO taking place on Sunday, September 18th. Our section of the Danforth from Broadview to Hampton Avenues will be closed to traffic from 8am to 3pm; the actual Open Streets TO event takes place from 10am to 2pm. Broadview will have a soft close - meaning that police officers will be allowing cars to travel north and south on Broadview.

This is the first time that Open Streets will be coming east across the Viaduct and they are very excited that our BIA is participating. Thousands of people walk, roller blade and bike the Open Streets route. This is an opportunity for you to promote your business to new consumers.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
Attached please find information about what you can do to promote your business on the 18th. We're hoping that as many of you as possible will create something engaging to promote your business to our Open Streets TO visitors. Retailers can hand out coupons; restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries can hand out free samples; yoga and dance studios can do little classes and demos. It's up to you as to how much you would like to do.

SPECIAL ACTIVITIY HUB:
Open Streets TO sets up Activity Hubs along the route. We will have one Activity Hub in our section of the Danforth. This Activity Hub would be an ideal spot for any of our dance or yoga studios to promote yourselves with interactive demonstrations. If you are interested in being part of this Activity Hub please email me directly as soon as possible so we can get organized.
