Various Updates & Things To Know on a Wednesday

Good Afternoon All,

I have a four items for you today as follows:

1. Rapid Test Kits
The Province is making rapid test kits available for free to businesses who are currently in operation - so for those of you who have offices, curbside pick-ups, take-out/delivery etc.  These are handy test kits to have in order to ensure that you and your staff are okay.  It's important to remember that although you and your staff may have had their first shot that doesn't cover you from getting Covid.  These rapid test kits are another layer to add to your businesses' safety protocols in addition to wearing masks, washing hands etc.

This is the link to the Province's full information on these rapid test kits;
https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1000082/ontario-expands-covid-19-rapid-testing-across-province

I've gone through the information contained in the above and here is the first link that will get you started if you're interested in getting the kits:
  • There are more ways for organizations to easily find out how to access rapid antigen tests. Visit ontario.ca/testingonsite to find out more.

For most of you, you will want to click "other" on the list of business industries, then click allowed to be open.  This will allow you to be able to register for the kits.  At that point you will want to click this link:

You can get free test kits from:

I know this sounds a little complicated but once you're in the portal it will make sense and it doesn't seem too difficult.

2. CafeTO Building Schedule
Although outdoor dining isn't allowed yet we will start building out our CafeTO patios this coming Monday, May 24 - the crews will start in the evening.  It should take a couple of days to complete and will involve shifting the bike lanes and parking.  The curb lane patios will remain empty until the Province gives the go-ahead for outdoor dining.

3. Broadview Avenue Watermain Construction
We were hoping that this project would start this week however there's been a delay - the main pipe that is on order didn't show up last Friday.  The construction can't begin without it.  It's our hope that it will arrive in this coming Friday's shipment.  The sooner we can start this project the sooner we can get it finished.  I will keep you updated.

4. Community Safety Meeting Reminder
