As you know from my recent emails your BIA Board of Directors and I have been lobbying against the City's proposed Patio Fees increase. There was quite a substantial amount of media coverage on this issue this week as well. Attached please find a letter that both Councilor Fletcher and Councilor Fragedakis have sent to the appropriate people at City Hall expressing their concerns and their call for revisions on this matter.

Regarding the earlier notice about a public meeting to discuss proposed higher fees for use of patio space or marketing space, the City of Toronto will be making presentation materials available online. The project website (www.toronto.ca/mlshaveyoursay) will be updated to include this presentation. This will allow stakeholders who are unable to attend to watch the meeting in real time (ie live) or at a time that is more convenient to them. This is to advise that the 2017 Commercial Façade Improvement Grant application form is now available on the city's website. The deadline for submission is Thursday May 18, 2017 or when all of the funds have been committed. Last year all of the funds were committed by May 6th.
